Capienda Biotech is developing a system to accelerate drug discovery. Our solution is expected to enable higher quality drugs to enter clinical trials, resulting in greater chance for success in the clinic and reduced cost of developing FDA-approved drugs for treating cancer and inflammatory disease. The system is a combination of advanced chemistry and novel hardware for high-throughput kinetics analysis. Capienda Biotech is supported by the National Institutes of Health grant 1R43TR005404 and National Science Foundation grant NSF-2127159.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a rare opportunity to break into the engineering field for pharma/biotech systems at the prototype stage—and even while pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Capienda Biotech is seeking a part-time Engineering Intern to develop software for a novel laboratory instrument. The successful candidate will write software to analyze signals from a prototype instrument in real time and report results. The successful candidate will work with a seasoned team of software/hardware engineers and scientists. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Software programming in C#. CUDA is a plus. 

* Implement numerical methods for data analysis: Singular Value Decomposition and kinetic analysis. 

* Analyze data acquired by the instrument system

* Some user-interface programming. 

* Some Computer Aided Design (CAD) using SolidWorks and 3-D printing.

* Supervision by software engineer and biochemist.

QUALIFICATIONS

* 0-3 Years Industry Experience: an entry level position.

* Undergraduate student in year 3+ of a Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related degree.

* Linear Algebra course completed.

* Experience using SolidWorks CAD software is preferred.

* This is not a remote position, but candidates will work on-site at our laboratory.

Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States without the need for present or future sponsorship.

Not eligible for relocation.

Pay rate: up to $30 per hour.
